Que Nguyen does sound. Through her work with voice/vid/site band, mimic mass, she has presented work at LA5 , Electro Fringe, Next Wave Festival, Conical Gallery Sound Series and the MIAF . She is the co-founder and artistic director of “Within Earshot”, an RMIT spatial sound collective. As a sound designer/operator, she has worked on numerous award-winning theatre/performance productions and has just completed work on an AFC Strand X funded short film, which premiered at MIFF this year. She recently has been invited to join West Space ‘After hours’ curatorial team, convened by Dr Phillip Samartzis. Her solo (sound art) work continues the exploration of voice and its relationship with technology. Que composes using rules and restrictions placed upon technological processes. Process combines with technology to generate unexpected directions and themes.
